Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Wet/damp. Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer. Various locations. Commercial. Tasks: Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Construction specialization: Residential. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Hand-eye co-ordination. Overtime required. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
