Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Interpret engineering drawings and others' instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation. Lay out reference points and patterns. Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently. Study engineering drawings and blueprints. Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements. Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures. Weld or bolt sections together. Install fabricated components in final product. Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Metal Fabricator (Fitter) Red Seal Certificate. Welding techniques: Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Cutting torches. Drills. Grinder. Saws. Area of specialization: Structural metal or steel. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check. Drug test. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Welding helmet. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Initiative. Reliability. Team player. Values and ethics. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
