Job details
*Bookkeeper duties:*
* Issuing invoices and maintaining accounts receivable
* Processing accounts payable invoices
* Assisting in the preparation of monthly / yearly closings
* Ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards
* Other accounting and/or administrative tasks as required
* Banks transactions posting and reconciliations
* Credit Cards transaction posting and reconciliation
* Generate Bi-Weekly Account payable
* Posting Sales Journal Transactions, Purchase, Payment, Receipts and all other entries
* Reconcile all general ledgers including Account Payable & Account Receivable
* Prepare and file GST/HST and PST returns monthly, quarterly and yearly
* Record Payroll journal entries in QuickBooks Desktop
*Payroll duties:*
* Processing biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff
* Making sure the payroll payments are accurate and reflected on the pay slips, including regular payments, overtime payments, retro payments, bonus, sick days, vacation payout, manulife benefit, etc
* Generating HR payroll reports for the accounting department
* Sending an email with the payroll totals to the Brand Director (Alfonso Sanz)
* Making sure we comply with BC legislations
*HR duties:*
* Being first point of contact for the HR related items for the staff of all Taquerias and Comex
* Benefits administration (Manulife) including enrolment, updates and terminations
* Recruiting process - including job description's updates, post ads in different websites, screening Resumes and forward them to GMs
* Scheduling interviews with managers
* Sending Welcome emails' to the new employees and following up with them until receive all the info and documents, making sure we get the TD1 form, TD1 BC form and SIN
* Creating job offers for Managerial positions and making sure we get a copy of it duly signed
* Issuing employee letters as needed, including offer of employment, employee references, termination and pay in lieu letters
* Managing HRIS (Push) - adding new employees, updating information, terminating employees. Please note this is extremely important because payroll can't be processed if all the info in Push is accurate
* Requesting ROEs through Push and email them to the terminated employees
* Maintaining employee records electronically (Push)
* Sick days and vacation tracking (GDrive)
* Supporting immigration processes - working along with the Immigration Consultants providing them with supporting documents
* Updating performance review templates (it is ready in Push)
* Updating the Welcome package document in GDrive, when needed
* Following up claims with WorkSafe BC
