The Simcoe County District School Board is accepting applications for the following position:<p>Summer Writing Contract: Early Years Literacy PD Day Writing <p>Two 50-hour positions to be completed by August 9, 2024<p>The successful candidate for the Summer Writing Contract will collaborate on the planning of the following task: Creating a guidance document for consistent Kindergarten planning time planning, delivery and assessment. <p> Create PD for DECE release days for the 2024-2025 school year that focuses on effective literacy practiced embedded in the FDK programCandidates will have a thorough understanding of The Kindergarten Program (2016) and experience creating culturally relevant system-level instruction and assessment resources to support learning in the early years.<p>Successful applicants will be compensated at the Common Rate $46.50/hour (Con-Ed Remedial Rate)<p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS An Ontario Teachers Certificate of Qualification or Early Childhood Education Diploma<p> Qualifications to teach in two divisions (Primary and Junior or Intermediate preferred)<p> Kindergarten additional qualification (preferred)<p> Experience in creating culturally relevant and responsive system-level instruction and assessment resources (preferred)<p> at least five years elementary teaching experience (preferred)KEY COMPETENCIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT <p>Successful applicants for District Mathematics Facilitator(s) (K-12) will have thorough knowledge of The Kindergarten Program (2016)<p> knowledge of Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy (CRRP) and anti-oppressive pedagogy<p> a repertoire of effective evidence-informed instructional strategies to engage students in learning;<p> in-depth knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting;<p> experience working in collaboration with colleagues;<p> experience using a variety of digital tools to support online instruction, assessment and student engagement;<p> an ability to align professional learning with system priorities;<p> excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; and<p> Growing Success Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting in Ontario Schools (1-12); Growing Success, The Kindergarten Addendum Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting in Ontario Schools; <p> Ontario Schools Policy and Program Requirements (K-12); <p> School Effectiveness Framework A support for school improvement and student success (K-12); <p> Learning for All A Guide to Effective Assessment and Instruction for All Students (K-12); <p> Creating Pathways to Success, An Education and Career/Life Planning Program for Ontario Schools: Policy and Program Requirements (K-12); and <p> Ontario First Nation, Metis and Inuit Education Policy Framework 2007.<p>RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT <p>The successful candidate for the Summer Writing Contract will collaborate on the planning of the following task: Creating a guidance document for consistent Kindergarten planning time planning, delivery and assessment.
