We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist at Central Office located in Morinville, just minutes north of St. Albert.<p> Reporting to the Senior Payroll Coordinator, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for coordinating resources and providing accurate processing of payroll and benefits. This role contributes to all day-to-day payroll and benefits functions to ensure an effective and responsive service delivery.<p> FTE: 1.0 FTE; 35 hrs/week; 7 hrs/day; 12 months per year; Full-Time Permanent<p> Responsibilities Duties include but not limited to:<p> Accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll, pension, union, and other benefits<p> Ensure staff documentation is accurately completed and distributed within deadlines<p> Interpret and apply Collective Agreements as they relate to payroll and benefits<p> Reconcile monthly benefit premiums<p> Calculate and balance monthly Source Deductions for remittance<p> Process Record of Employment and Pension declarations<p> Assist with yearend processes including T4 preparation, Teachers Retirement Fund, Local Authority Pension Plan and other reports<p> Assist with financial audits<p> Reporting to departments as requested Qualifications and Attributes Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification<p> Minimum three years direct experience in Payroll Administration<p> Knowledge of collective agreements policies and procedures<p> Working knowledge of pension or RRSP administration<p> Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal)<p> Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Google Suite<p> Accurate data entry with excellent analytical, problem solving and technical skills<p> Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting timelines and maintaining confidentiality<p> Work effectively with limited supervision as a member of a team Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $60,193.20 annual salary.
