Maintenance I - Controls Technician <p>Start Date: TBD <p>12 months per year, 35 hours/week <p>Pay Band 9D MV-1 - $33.30 to $37.00 Who We Are: <p>The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPR) offers a world-class education for approximately 34,000 students in 87 schools. Spanning over 7,000 square kilometers, across diverse rural and urban communities in southeastern Ontario, KPR serves the Municipality of Clarington, Northumberland and Peterborough Counties, and City of Quinte West/Murray Ward.<p>The Board is situated on the traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg people, serving three vibrant Indigenous communities which include Alderville First Nation, Curve Lake First Nation and Hiawatha First Nation.<p>Today, the Kawartha Pine Ridge school district is home to many First Nations, Mtis and Inuit peoples and we acknowledge the contributions and accomplishments of all Indigenous people across Turtle Island, current and throughout history.<p>All positions in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board support the schools priority of student achievement and the Boards mission to educate our students to excel in learning, to succeed in life and to enrich our communities.<p>The purpose of the Maintenance I Controls Technician position is to install, maintain and repair building automation systems which control the temperature and air quality within the school; including heating, air conditioning, ventilation and exhaust.Main Responsibilities: assess requirements and install new building automation systems; evaluate for proper operation before end of warranty;<p> repair existing controls and equipment such as valves, compressors, electronic controllers;<p> alter existing computer programs, changing schedules and internal logic of programs;<p> monitor existing systems daily for alarms / flags and respond to concerns; conduct preventative maintenance on control stations;<p> respond to health and safety concerns and investigate equipment operations through review of blueprints and specifications; responds to emergency calls;<p> maintain and upgrade education in the field;<p> performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. <p>Education & Experience: high school diploma or equivalent;<p> Certification of Qualification Controls Technician or Electrician 209A License<p> 1 to 3 years experienceSpecialized Skills: Pneumatic Control Training (Honeywell, Johnson, Powers and Barber Coleman); Computer training (Honeywell and Reliable Controls)<p> valid drivers license and use of own vehicle<p> A commitment to service excellence <p>A police records check, with a Vulnerable Sector Search and<p>Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database Search , dated within 6 months prior to the date<p>of hire , is a requirement for employment with this Board.<p>Please note that there have been reports that it has taken some candidates up<p>to 6 weeks to obtain a police check.
