The Simcoe County District School Board is accepting applications from SCDSB Designated Early Childhood Educators for the following position: Summer Writing Contract: Early Years Literacy PD Day Writing Two 50-hour positions to be completed by August 9, 2024 The successful candidate for the Summer Writing Contract will collaborate on the planning of the following task: Creating a guidance document for consistent Kindergarten planning time planning, delivery and assessment. Create PD for DECE release days for the 2024-2025 school year that focuses on effective literacy practiced embedded in the FDK program Candidates will have a thorough understanding of The Kindergarten Program (2016) and experience creating culturally relevant system-level instruction and assessment resources to support learning in the early years. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS An Ontario Teachers Certificate of Qualification with qualifications to teach in two divisions (Primary and Junior or Intermediate preferred) and Kindergarten additional qualification (preferred); OR, or Early Childhood Education Diploma and registration with the college of early childhood educators (RECE) Experience in creating culturally relevant and responsive system-level instruction and assessment resources (preferred) At least five years experience (preferred) KEY COMPETENCIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT Successful applicants for District Mathematics Facilitator(s) (K-12) will have thorough knowledge of The Kindergarten Program (2016) knowledge of Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy (CRRP) and anti-oppressive pedagogy a repertoire of effective evidence-informed instructional strategies to engage students in learning; in-depth knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting; experience working in collaboration with colleagues; experience using a variety of digital tools to support online instruction, assessment and student engagement; an ability to align professional learning with system priorities; excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; and Growing Success Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting in Ontario Schools (1-12); Growing Success, The Kindergarten Addendum Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting in Ontario Schools; Ontario Schools Policy and Program Requirements (K-12); School Effectiveness Framework A support for school improvement and student success (K-12); Learning for All A Guide to Effective Assessment and Instruction for All Students (K-12); Creating Pathways to Success, An Education and Career/Life Planning Program for Ontario Schools: Policy and Program Requirements (K-12); and Ontario First Nation, Metis and Inuit Education Policy Framework 2007. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT The successful candidate for the Summer Writing Contract will collaborate on the planning of the following task: Creating a guidance document for consistent Kindergarten planning time planning, delivery and assessment.
