Teacher Synchronous Distance Education High School Offerings2 teachers one specialized in Math/Science; one specialized in English/Humanities/Social Sciences <p>KOBE is hiring teachers to teach classes in non-traditional times including Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The teaching will be conducted via distance using video conferencing and smartboard equipment. One teachers work schedule will be from January, to the end of September and the second teacher work schedule will start in April, to the end of December, with paid vacation time falling within the off time of each position. We are currently looking to hire 2 teachers to start immediately to work on the initial setup of courses and contribute to the overall program.<p>The teachers responsibilities include but not limited to the following: <p>Develop and edit courses;<p>Delivering synchronized courses during scheduled hours;<p>Communicate regularly with students, parents, guardians and teachers about student progress;<p>Be available to fill-in/travel for a teacher in a northern community in case of emergency;<p>Develop and meet the goals developed in the teachers Annual Learning Plan.<p>Other duties as assigned by the KiHS Administration<p>Qualifications: <p>Knowledge of best practices in online education<p>OCT qualified teacher<p>Experience teaching in the online environment including teaching through a synchronous videoconferencing platform and using SMART boards;<p>Familiarity with Ministry of Education documents (e.g., Growing Success)<p>Knowledge of learning management systems, preferable Moodle, is considered an asset<p>Strong technology skills <p>Salary range: $41,062.32 - $107,466.32 as per the teacher salary grid based on education and experience. <p>KOBE offers a Comprehensive Benefit Package.<p>Applicants interested in this position are welcome to submit their resume and cover letter with three recent professional references including your current supervisor and a letter of permission for KO Board of Education to contact these references to: resumes@edu.knet.ca<p>As per policy, applicants should note that COVID-19 Immunization is a condition of employment within KOBE.<p>KOBE gives preference in hiring to members of the KO First Nations, and secondly to indigenous individuals from outside of the KO First Nations.
