Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Tasks: Establish methods to meet work schedules. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food. Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures. Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation . Hire food service staff. Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards. Prepare budget and cost estimates. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage. Prepare food order summaries for chef. Must have knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres. Establish work schedules. Supervision: 3-4 people. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Support for persons with disabilities: Provides visual accessibility accommodations (for example: braille, screen readers, etc.). Provides auditory accessibility accommodations (for example: transcription software, teletypewriters, etc.). Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities . Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Support for mature workers: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports mature workers . Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination . Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers . Supports for visible minorities: Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities (for example: anonymizing the hiring process, etc.).
