Force?s services include in-plant and mobile inspection, repair, machining, and manufacturing.
Reporting to the Operational Accounting Manager, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll for the organization. This includes ensuring compliance with all federal and provincial legislation, handling employee inquiries, and maintaining accurate payroll records. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
*Duties & Responsibilities:*
Payroll Processing:
* Accurately process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for all employees.
* Calculate wages, benefits, deductions, and taxes.
* Prepare and distribute pay statements and annual tax forms (e.g., T4, T4A).
* Assist with the month end journal closing and reporting for the payroll related area.
Compliance and Reporting:
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
* Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to government agencies.
* Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.
Employee Support:
* Address payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees promptly and professionally.
* Provide information and support regarding payroll policies and procedures.
Record Maintenance:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation.
* Handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
System Management:
* Utilize payroll software to process payroll and generate reports.
* Work with IT or external vendors to troubleshoot and optimize payroll system functionality.
Other Duties:
* Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts related to payroll expenses.
* Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments on various projects and tasks as needed.
* Complies with Force Inspection?s Health & Safety program and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
*Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:*
* A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration.
* Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
* Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and regulations.

* This position will be Monday ? Friday, with the opportunity to work from home (currently a hybrid model of days in the office (Nisku) and days at home).
