*Position Title:* Program Coordinator - Aquatics
*Department:* Health, Fitness and Aquatics
*Worksite Location:* Owen Sound, On
*Position Type:* Full-time, Permeant *Cat:* 1
*Hours:* 37.5 hours per week
*Shifts:* Must be able to work a minimum of 2-3 evenings per week and 2 weekends per month. This full-time position requires a flexible work schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required subject to program needs.
*Hourly Rate:* $22.78 - $25.88 per hour
*Start Date:* ASAP

*The Opportunity:*
Reporting to the Aquatics Supervisor, the Program Coordinator - Aquatics is responsible for the coordination of the YMCA swimming lesson program and igniting the potential in both staff and participants throughout the delivery of aquatic programs, including swim lessons, aquatic certification courses, aquatic recreation and leisure activities that are reflective of and support the recreational needs of the community in which we operate.
*Responsibilities:*
* Works with the Aquatics Supervisor to develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate a full range of quality aquatic programs and services for participants of all ages which includes overseeing swimming lessons and Advance Courses.
* Coordinates space for swimming lessons and private pool bookings.
* Coordinates Swim Lesson Program, including but not limited to, the planning and maintenance of the lesson schedule, promotion, registration support, and waitlists.
* Assist Aquatic Supervisor in direct delivery of staff training as required.
* Act as Team Lead for evening or weekend swimming lessons.
* Assisting the Aquatic Supervisor with recruiting, and onboarding, including interviews, reference checks, training document tracking and orientation.
* Assists Aquatic Supervisor, in training and ensuring aquatics staff are knowledgeable of applicable legislation, are trained to respond appropriately in emergency situations, safe program delivery, safe equipment and material use, incident reporting and follow-up when necessary.
* Provides onsite supervision to all aquatic staff and programs during the evenings, and weekends and in the absence of the Aquatic Supervisor.
* Other duties as required.

* Provide 3 professional references.
* Demonstrate your sincere interest by:
* Confirming Degree or diploma in Recreation and Leisure or a relevant and related field
* A minimum of two (2) years? experience in recreation programming, inclusive of minimum one (1) year in an aquatic programming role.
* A minimum of 6 months staff or volunteer training experience.
* Current National Lifeguard (NL)
