Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: Commercial. Industrial. Residential. Various locations. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster. Clean and prepare surfaces. Cure freshly plastered surfaces. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency. Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists. Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings. Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Client focus.
