*Job Purpose*
The Construction Project Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of multiple construction projects, from initial planning and client interactions to project execution across various job sites. With a focus on technically demanding ICI (industrial, commercial, and institutional) projects, the PM ensures adherence to Company and industry standards and champions the delivery of projects within defined timelines and budgets. Beyond project management, this role actively contributes to pricing strategies for new project opportunities. Leadership, effective communication, and adept problem-solving are central to the PM's responsibilities, driving project success while consistently adding value to stakeholders and the internal team.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
_Planning_
* Planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating construction projects from start to finish according to scope, schedule, specifications, and budget alongside the Site Superintendent
* Plan and prepare construction scheduled and milestones, and monitor progress against established schedules
* Preparing progress reports and issuing progress schedules to clients
_Cost/Purchasing_
* Preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates
* Responsible for delivering estimated margins monthly as requested
* Track project costs
* Directing the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
_Scheduling/Reporting_
* Ensure all projects assigned meet anticipated schedules, stay within budget, exceeds client satisfactions, and are executed at the highest level of quality expected
* Handle project administration, including cost control, schedule control, and change order administration
_Health and Safety_
* Monitor site safety and ensure that everyone on site adheres to all health and safety standards and reports issues
* Prepare and submit daily report and job hazard analysis report to the H&S Coordinator
* Complete job site inspection on a weekly basis
* Execute safety talks with the team on a biweekly basis or as needed
_Administration/Other_
* Hiring and supervising the activities of the subcontractors and subordinate staff
* Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
* Developing and implementing quality control programs
* Manage and execute the Contemplated Change Order (CCO), Change Order (CO) and Change Directive (CD) process in a timely manner, responding to the time frames requested by the Client Representative and contract specifications; in all cases, follow up with until an approved CO is received within the timelines of contract specifications
* Perform other duties as required
*Qualifications & Skills Required*
* *6+* years of Canadian *construction* project experience with a minimum of 3 years? experience as a construction Project Manager
* Certification in Project Management
* Knowledge of Ontario Construction Regulations
* Experience in regulating a positive Health and Safety environment and demonstrating a Safety-First focus attitude
* Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and related Building Codes
* Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
* Highly proficient in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel
