*Recreation Coordinator*
We are looking for an energetic, passionate Recreation Coordinator to lead our Rec team in Richmond. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement individual and group therapeutic social, recreation and rehabilitative programs to enhance or improve the quality of our residents? lives. These programs are provided in a safe environment that supports and respects the autonomy, independence, dignity, social and recreational interests of our residents.

*What You Will Do*
* Using a variety of tools, develop, implement, and evaluate a range of resident centered therapeutic social and recreational programs.
* Organize and distribute monthly program calendars, working collaboratively with your recreation team.
* Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and resident care conferences.
* Coordinate, purchase and maintain the Recreation department resources including inventory and replenishment of supplies.
* Orientation, mentorship and supervision of recreation department staff, students, and volunteers including facilitating planning meetings with the team members.
* Oversee the bus outing program scheduling, drivers, maintenance, licensing and inspections.
* Scheduling and booking for on-site entertainers, and visits from community partners (i.e., schools, churches etc.)
* Development and distribution of the monthly newsletter, gathering information by collaborating with team members and the site management team.
* Compile statistical data for the recreation programs and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
* Recruit volunteers and utilize community resources to the benefit of our residents.
.*Your Qualifications ? The Must Have?s*
* Graduate of a recognized Recreation Therapy Degree program
* Membership in the B.C. Therapeutic Recreation Association
* 2+ years working in a management or supervisory role
* Valid First Aid certificate
* Food Safe Level I
* Patience, kindness, compassion, and the ability to work collectively with your colleagues
* Ability to organize your workload and accomplish the day?s objectives
* Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
* A Class 4 unrestricted licence is considered an asset, or the willingness to obtain one
* Candidates must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector and proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
