The Program Manager is a key operational role within the University of Fredericton's academic structure, directly supporting the Academic Chair in executing program-specific strategies. This role focuses on the day-to-day management of academic programs, including curriculum implementation, faculty coordination, advisory committee engagements, quality assurance reviews, research exercises, and student success initiatives. Additionally, the Program Manager will have teaching responsibilities, enriching the academic experience with their expertise, and ensuring relevant, cutting-edge content is delivered throughout the learning experience. This position emphasizes operational excellence, quality education delivery, and direct engagement with students and faculty. This position furthermore requires knowledge of academic trends in statistical modelling, data management and programming.ResponsibilitiesOperational Management & Execution:Implement and manage the day-to-day operational aspects of academic programs, ensuring effective delivery of curriculum and adherence to accreditation standards.Maintain standard dashboard to track course developments, schedules and resources.Facilitate the operationalization of strategic initiatives developed by the Academic Chair and Dean of Academics, translating vision into actionable plans.Work with the Academic Chair, and lab assistants, to ensure all lab environments are correctly provisioned and optimized for student activity and timely grading.Curriculum Development, Research & Teaching:Participate in curriculum development efforts, ensuring relevance and rigor. Teach courses within the program, bringing practical insights and academic expertise to the classroom.Collaborate with Academic Chair to optimize datasets and tooling required to deliver relevant student exercises.Develop learning and resource database for students to augment classwork.Conduct research on new trends and developments within the field - this work will inform student workshop development and support ongoing curriculum reviewsRegularly review and assess course content and delivery methods to align with industry trends and academic standards.Work with academic chair to engage industry partners to develop learning and experiential opportunities for students and faculty.Work with academic chair to participate in industry conferences and workshops - support the delivery of student focused tech talks and workshops.Assist academic chair in development of monthly faculty and student newsletter.Faculty Coordination & Support:Assist in faculty scheduling, workload distribution, and operational support. Act as a liaison between the faculty and the Academic Chair, facilitating communication and operational alignment.Support faculty development initiatives and participate in the onboarding and mentoring of new instructors.Develop and communicate faculty KPIs and schedule regular assessments.Assist the academic chair with performance evaluations and recommendations.Student Engagement & Success:Monitor and support student academic progress, providing guidance and resources to enhance their learning journey.Collaborate with student support services to address student needs and contribute to retention and success strategies.Support the delivery of monthly computer science workshop series.Maintain FAQ sheets and check-in sessions for students who need additional supports.Accreditation & Compliance Support:Assist in maintaining program accreditation through data collection, documentation, and support of accreditation processes.Ensure program compliance with university and accreditation body standards and requirements.Stakeholder Collaboration:Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support program objectives, including student recruitment, industry partnerships, and community engagement.QualificationsTerminal degree in Computer Science or a related field; teaching experience of a minimum o
