Kolbe Gallery Calgary has an exciting opportunity for an *Architectural Technologist *to join our growing team. Kolbe Gallery Calgary, part of the Finestra Design group of companies, is a proud distributor of Kolbe Windows and Doors and specializes in high-luxury residential and light-commercial fenestration solutions. We service the most reputable architects, builders, and renovators in Western Canada. We strive to be technical leaders in our field, and provide our clients with the product expertise, knowledge, and technical support they need to bring their unique designs to life.
This position supports our customers and outside sales team with quantity take-offs, the creation of design and shop drawings, production of building interface details, and other important construction documentation. The Architectural Technologist will research products, participate in continuous training, and become an important point of contact for each project they are involved in.

You are adept in all forms of communication, and confidently present yourself when speaking with others on the phone or in person.
*Key Elements of the Role:*
* Become a Kolbe Windows & Doors product expert and stay informed and current on new product releases.
* Prepare and present various documents and details such as bid proposals, construction details, charts, graphs, and tables, and other relevant presentation documents.
* Review and summarize information from construction drawings.
* Communicate directly with clientele at all stages of the project.
* Update contacts, record new opportunities, and schedule and complete follow-ups using construction management software.
* Monitor project progress and document project status using construction management software.
* Prepare detailed shop drawing packages that may include window and door elevations, alignments, section details, project specifications, and installation / anchoring requirements.
* Accompany sales representatives to meetings in showroom, on various job sites, or customers? offices to relay technical aspects of the product or details of the order.
* Prepare job site plans and necessary information for installation team.
*Basic* *Key Competencies, Experience and Abilities:*
* A diploma in Architectural Technologies is required.
* Knowledge of Canadian construction practices, materials, products, and applications.
* Ability to read and interpret construction documents of all kinds including specifications, structural drawings, architectural drawings, and shop drawings.
* Familiarity with Canadian building codes and building and development permit processes.
* Excellent interpersonal communication, problem solving abilities, and critical thinking skills.
* Superior organizational and time management skills.
* Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software applications.
* Proficiency with computer-aided drafting software.
* Proficiency with Adobe InDesign
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Excellent command of the English language.
* Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
* Positive and professional attitude.
* Valid passport and legally allowed to travel to the United States.
* Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
*Experience and Skills Considered to be Assets:*
* Experience with construction estimating, planning, and/or project management.
* Previous employment as an architectural technologist.
* A strong understanding of construction logistics.
* Experience using AutoCAD and other computer aided design software.
