Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Bake shop. Urban area. Tasks: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders. Bake mixed dough and batters. Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff. Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods. Draw up production schedules. Train staff. Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards. Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods. Requisition materials and supplies. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. 3-4 people. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Tight deadlines.
