Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer. Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Conduct initial dental assessments. Consult with dentists on patient care. Take dental impressions. Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene. Clean and stimulate the gums to prevent gum disease. Apply fluoride treatment. Take, develop and mount X-rays. Perform restorative and orthodontic procedures under the direction of a dentist. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Dental Hygienists Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Fast-paced environment. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Attention to detail. Work under pressure. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Team player. Experience: Will train.
