Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Fruit and vegetable combination farming. Work setting: Remote location. Tasks: Cultivate on vertical farming system. Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots. Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.. Greenhouse cleaning. Hand harvesting vegetables. Pack fruits and vegetables. Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops. Tie and secure plants. Clean work area. Harvest crops. Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry. Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market. Type of crops: Microgreens. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Gloves. Steel-toed safety boots. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Support for newcomers and refugees: Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.). Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.).
