Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings. Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations. Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates. Prepare engineering designs and drawings. Prepare project schedules. Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Computer and technology knowledge: CAE - computer-aided engineering. AutoCAD. Area of specialization: Construction design and supervision. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication.
