Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Manufacture. Tasks: Set machine or equipment controls. Read blueprints and drawings. Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Clean and maintain work space. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools. Prepare etching solution and immerse metal parts or workpiece into the etching solution to remove unwanted portions. Computer and technology knowledge: Mastercam CAD/CAM. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Area of work experience: Fabrication. Area of specialization: Development of production processes. Robotic equipment and systems. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Hand-eye co-ordination. Overtime required. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
