Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Noisy. Dusty. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Renovation. Commercial. Residential. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Survey building locations and levels. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling.
