Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Document work completed. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot or cold forging to shape or form metal. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Forklift Operator Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Brakes. Lifting device. Overhead crane. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Forming. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
