On the Bell Media team you will be a part of creating and delivering the best Canadian and international content across digital media, television, radio and out-of-home advertising platforms. You'll join a team of passionate and driven innovators, who are breaking barriers and expanding the reach of Canada's most-loved entertainment.At Bell Media, you'll redefine digital connections and pioneer next-generation services, propelling us to reach new heights, unlock untapped potential and expand horizons for our customers.ResponsibilitiesGenerate original stories and other content for all platforms; Responsible for writing at least 5-7 news stories per day and updating them;Pitch ideas for original reporting;Ensure the accuracy, consistency and adherence to standards of all material on the site (articles, headlines, photos, captions, video, etc.);Copy editing stories for grammar and accuracy;Video editing;May be asked to do on camera work;Visualizations in infographics, maps, quizzes, timelines and data journalism;Monitoring and publishing wires, with focus on SEO, keywords and social sharing;Managing multiple social media streams; sending news alerts;Participate in news editorial meetings;Other duties as assigned.RequirementsAt least 2 years' experience in a newsroom;Ability to write accurate and engaging headlines;Must demonstrate accountability and teamwork;Experience writing news stories for the Montreal market is an asset;Ability to work under constant tight deadlines; time management skills and multi-tasking abilities are essential;Must be familiar with Canadian Press Style Guide and Canadian libel law;Degree in journalism preferred;Keen interest and understanding of local news and current affairs, local community issues and political structures;Television experience, on-camera experience and camera operation abilities an asset;Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop and other applications in the Adobe Creative Suite is an asset;Familiarity with newsroom management systems (e.g. iNews, etc.) and video encoding/format transferring an asset;Other duties as assigned;Valid driver's license and good driving record required.Maintaining professional relationships with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada is critical to this position.#EmployeeReferralProgramAdequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
