Remote work considered. <p>Non-Union Support Staff - 12 Month position with possibility of extension <p>Salary: $78,076 - $94,902 <p>Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is situated in beautiful Northwestern Ontario. KPDSB serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala. Additional information regarding the Board is available on the Boards web site at http://www.kpdsb.on.ca/ .<p>Purpose of the Position <p>Under the general direction of the Director of Education, the System Communication & Media Administrator is responsible for creating and monitoring all aspects of the organizations external communications and public relations, including media relations, emergency or crisis communications, publications, graphic design, video creation, web design, and content management. This position is responsible for the overall visual identity and branding of the Board and supports marketing and reputation management for individual schools.<p>Duties Manages and monitors the Boards public relations to preserve and promote its positive image<p> Monitors media platforms and feedback received from school administration, colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure proper and timely response to bad press or targeted attacks<p> Responds to complaints by correcting misinformation or misunderstanding and increasing positive promotion<p> Ensures that similar complaints are prevented in the future through proper documentation and awareness<p> Informs Senior Administration, Trustees, and other key stakeholders of any critical issues and/or media coverage<p> Creates and updates external communications to support individual schools in their efforts to keep parents and students informed and promotes a positive image of the Board. This includes video creation, publications, and graphic and website design<p> Plans, coordinates, and executes special events and marketing campaigns to promote program registration, engage stakeholders, and combat any preconceived notions or barriers. This includes identifying stakeholders to be involved, coordinating sub-committees, and maintaining budgets <p> Develops emergency communications to support the Board and individual schools in effective communication to key stakeholders, including parents, in a crisis situationEducation and Qualifications College diploma from a recognized institution in marketing, communications, or public relations is required. University degree from a recognized institution is preferred<p> A minimum of 2 years of experience in communications or public relations is required. Experience in a School Board environment is preferred<p> Knowledge of individual school communities (school programming, demographics, perception in the community, etc.) is preferredThis position will be posted until Friday, August 30, 2024 at 4:00pm.
