Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Load and unload goods. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Air Brakes Endorsement. Documentation knowledge: Dangerous goods occurrence reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Type of trucking and equipment: Refrigerated. Tractor-trailer. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Short-haul. Security and safety: Valid passport. Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone. Steel-toed safety boots. Gloves. Experience: Will train.
