We are hiring a *Construction Manager. *The successful applicant will succeed in a fast-paced progressive career, enjoy working with people in a team environment, and lead with excellence. This full-time salary role supports Avana?s residential development growth in Regina and as we expand nationally. Reporting to the *Director, Planning and Construction*, you will lead Avana?s development portfolio consisting of a combination of high-quality multi-unit, single-family residential, and commercial projects.
The *Construction Manager *is responsible for oversight of the construction process and the overall construction activities within the established design, budget, and project scheduling guidelines, inclusive of the organizing, directing, controlling, and safety adherence activities on the construction site. *The Construction Manager *will also work collaboratively with the Project Manager who manages all the administrative aspects of Avana?s ongoing construction projects.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Lead the development and maintenance of project schedules, monitoring progress, identifying construction efficiencies, and ensuring alignment with design intent.
* Take charge of project delivery, adhering to timelines, budgets, and procurement of essential supplies.
* Oversee quality control and risk management aspects of Avana?s development portfolio, with guidance from the Director, Planning and Construction.
* Facilitate resource scheduling, waste management, utilities, and site safety requirements throughout construction.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to set move-in ready dates based on construction progress and Resident Division needs.
* Provide leadership and guidance within the Construction Division, aligning with Avana?s vision and the Director, Planning and Construction.
* Represent Avana at community events and functions, showcasing our commitment to the community.
* Implement two-to-four-week planning, ensuring projects are executed with precision and adherence to timelines.
* Manage Construction to Residents warranty management, addressing issues to promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
* Schedule and supervise Avana site staff, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
* Oversee project specifications, ensuring compliance and alignment with design requirements.
* Foster strong trade relations to facilitate smooth project progress and effective collaboration.
* Utilize BuilderTrend to-do lists for streamlined task management and communication.
* Enforce quality control measures and building code compliance to ensure projects meet the highest standards.
* Implement bi-weekly two-week lookaheads and retrospective reviews for accurate project tracking.
* Maintain detailed weekly logs and conduct inspections/QC checks to ensure project milestones are met.
* Lead regular project status meetings to align stakeholders and resolve issues in a timely manner.
