Off-Campus Teacher (Probationary Part-Time)<p>Location: Palliser Education Centre<p>Anticipated Start Date: September 16, 2024 (or date mutually agreeable)<p>Anticipated Start Date: June 27, 2025<p>Assignment: Off Campus Teacher<p>FTE: 0.5 <p>The Palliser School Division is committed to engendering and supporting the values of the broader society: empathy, integrity, respect, trust, and responsibility. If the children of this community are to realize these values, the division acknowledges its responsibility to provide an exemplary education.<p>Palliser School Division invites applications from certificated teachers for a 0.5 FTE part-time, probationary Off-Campus Teacher within the Division. The position will commence September 16, 2024 (or a date mutually agreeable) to June 27, 2025. The Off Campus Teacher is an integral member of the Palliser School Division, and will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Learning, and will be expected to travel between Palliser Schools and employers business sites in the community.The Off Campus Coordinator represents the Palliser School Division in the community and has a responsibility to act on behalf of the school division. <p>Benefits: Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) coverage (as per collective agreement). Responsibilities: Collaborate with administrators and teachers to gain insight as to how each Palliser school executes their off-campus programs and how they can assist with these off-campus opportunities; <p> Develop and maintain contacts with business and industry in the community; <p> Build and oversee Off Campus programs including Dual Credit, Work Experience, Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) and Green Certificate; <p> Oversee student safety protocols/procedures to ensure that students are working in a safe and respectful work environment; <p> Ensure that all work agreements or contracts have been signed by the student, the student's parent/guardian, the employer and the school authority designee; <p> Track data to inform instructional practice and program effectiveness to make informed decisions about off campus program Experience & Qualifications: Alberta Teaching Certificate;<p> Previous experience administering learning curriculums;<p> Successful Criminal Reference Check, including vulnerable sectors (within 3 months of contract start date).Skills and Competencies: Confidence, skill, knowledge and understanding of differentiated instruction, student engagement, and assessment practices<p> Strong work ethic<p> Ability to relate well with students, staff and parents<p> An ethic of service to students, colleagues, and community<p> Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to create positive relationships and establish rapport<p> Trustworthiness and integrity<p> Commitment to the Palliser Policy-Governance model <p> Ability to articulate a coherent understanding of educational aims<p> Commitment to fostering collaborative working relationships<p> Ability to manage professional learning time and be a self-starter<p> Commitment to personal lifelong learning<p> Commitment to the lifelong quest for self-understanding<p> Commitment to strengthening communication skills.
