Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Co-ordinate work activities with other departments
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules
  • Prepare production and other reports
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
  • Set up machines and equipment
  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers
  • Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
  • Operate large automatic multi-needle machines to embroider or to sew lengths of several layers of material
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery
  • Clean and make minor repairs to machines and equipment
  • Prepare and co-ordinate the production and submission of summary briefs and reports
  • Prepare detailed drawings, charts and plans and survey notes and reports
  • Co-ordinate and supervise production crew such as machine and process operators, tenders, assistants and helpers

  • Inspectors and testers, fabric, fur and leather products manufacturing
  • Sewing machine operators
