Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Work setting: Custom cabinet shop. Millwork shop. Tasks: Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components. Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage. Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.. Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Program CNC machine tools. Parts specialization: Recreation vehicle. Area of specialization: Cabinets. Furniture. Millwork. Kitchen cabinets and vanities. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
