Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Tasks: Supervise other workers. Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints. Clean and prepare surfaces. Cure freshly plastered surfaces. Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife. Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency. Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim. Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings. Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring. Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets. Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation. Prepare wall and ceiling layouts. Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
