*Accounts Payable:*
* Take the lead in managing and reviewing the entry and coding of AP transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Oversee cheque runs, analyzing transactions for efficiency and correctness.
* Collaborate with the team to refine AP processes, driving continuous improvement.
Once you are familiar with the AP portion of the business, you will grow into the AR portion to support our team as the lead for the AR/AP department.
*Accounts Receivable:*
* Manage receipting and deposit creation in the Yardi system, ensuring seamless operations.
* Handle tenant information setup, lease applications, and charge runs.
* Produce N1/N4 forms and collaborate with property managers and clients to resolve issues.
* Monitor and analyze ledgers, maintaining precise financial records.
* Work with our in-house paralegal on collections and arrears review.
*People Management:*
* Lead and inspire a team of 5+ accounting clerks, providing hands-on training, mentorship, and performance management.
* Work with the team to establish and refine procedures, ensuring consistency and excellence across the team.
* Drive departmental goals, motivating your team to achieve high standards.
* Oversee daily activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with company objectives.
* Build strong relationships with employees, clients, and vendors, fostering a collaborative environment.
*Qualifications:*
* Post secondary in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
* At least 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable management (required).
* Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on team development.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
* Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Yardi is preferred.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
