<p>Peace River School Division is seeking applications for a full-time 'Mental Health in Schools' Project Manager' . This position will commence as soon as possible and will continue until June 30, 2025. <p>The Project Manager will be based out of the Peace River School Division's Central Operations Building in Grimshaw, AB. Traveling to various schools within the Peace River School Division will be a requirement. <p>Closing date: September 16, 2024 @ 12:00 p.m.<p>Job Summary: <p>'Mental Health in Schools' Project Manager is responsible and accountable for providing leadership, direction and structure to support the objectives of the 'Mental Health in Schools' Project grant. The 'Mental Health in Schools' Project Manager will be responsible to the Director of Learning Services.<p>Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Developing and implementing a service plan that aligns with Mental Health in Schools Project grant objectives;<p> Including the provision of back-up Student Support Worker responsibilities as required; <p> Collaborate with and support the Learning Services Team, including social workers;<p> Overseeing the dissemination and completion of evaluation surveys as required; <p> Overseeing and ensuring overall quality and consistency of services; <p> Ensuring timely submission of financial, statistical and narrative reports, as required;<p> Liaison with school administrators, community partners and other agencies;<p> Leadership, coordination and supervision of Youth Education Support Workers;<p> Providing a high level of fiscal control and accountability for the budget;<p> Analyzing change processes and making necessary adjustments to maximize effectiveness. This position requires someone who has been formally educated in the health or social sciences field (such as health promotions & prevention, social work, nursing, psychology, public Health) and who can mentor and support Student Support Workers, provide supervision and collaborate with community partners while managing service needs and priorities. An understanding of health promotions and prevention philosophy, strategies and principles is essential.<p>The Project Manager ensures strategic use of human resources in providing the most effective and efficient service delivery. This role is also responsible for planning and determining allocation of resources. The Project Manager engages key partners and stakeholders in community collaborative networks to ensure access points to specialized addition and mental health services and community resources. <p>The Project Manager is also involved in collaborative planning for awareness events such as mental health week as well as professional development. This person is also responsible for ensuring programming meets provincial standards; maintaining records in accordance with FOIP; and ensures compliance with all relevant Alberta Education policies, contracts, and special agreements. <p>Qualifications & Experience <p> A related post-secondary degree or diploma in social sciences, or relevant courses and experience <p> At least 3 years working experience in addiction and mental health with promotion and prevention work is an asset. <p> Knowledge of mental health and wellness, health promotion and prevention and child and youth development. <p> Effective verbal and written skills including the ability to listen to others and communicate clearly. <p> Leadership skills which include supervision of staff or students. <p> Self-directed. <p> Ability to engage others and develop working relationships with community partners <p> Resource management skills. <p> Strong skills and knowledge in program development, facilitation and implementation, as well as change management. <p>
