Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Perform pre-operational inspection. Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Instruct apprentices. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites. Perform routine maintenance work. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment. Assist in the development of chemical engineering processes, studies of chemical engineering procurement, construction, inspection and maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. Confined Space Entry Training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Working at heights training. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Equipment and machinery experience: Concrete vibrators. Pumpcretes. Grouting machine. Chippers. Air compressors. Drills. Small front end loaders. Sandblasters. Hand tools. Construction specialization: Hydroelectric dams. Industrial, commercial and institutional. Roads and bridges. Underground and tunnel work. Poured concrete. Irrigation and drainage. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel. Willing to travel overnight. Valid driver's licence. Travel expenses paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.
