A locally owned and operated Construction Management company with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry is looking for a key member to join our all-star team of professionals. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Superintendent will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the construction of a mixed-use redevelopment project in Williams Lake, B.C.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the project and all operations on the site.
- Consistently and competently review and update construction schedule.
- Work with the CFO & Project Manager to ensure that the budget is followed.
- Uphold Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards.
- Maintain clear communication and provide leadership and motivation to all personnel and subcontractors so that they can complete work on time, within budgetary constraints, and according to the company?s quality and safety standards.
- Conduct on-site meetings with subtrades and maintain daily construction logbook.
- Consistently and competently devise and initiate timely solutions to on-site construction issues related to design & specifications, changes in the scope of work, personnel & labour relations, material handling and health & safety.
- Arrange for all necessary government inspections throughout the duration of the project.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, customers, and other project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of site supervision experience in multi-family / mixed-use construction.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Great attention to detail
- Proficient with reading and understanding construction documents and drawings
- Knowledge of construction materials methods and equipment
- Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures
- Solid understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety act and safe work practices
