Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Construction. Tasks: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools. Instruct apprentices. Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces. Supervise other workers. Lay or install firebricks to line industrial chimneys and smokestacks. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
