Tasks

Administer eye drops, ointments and medications as directed by ophthalmologists

Follow through on treatment programs with patients

Maintain inventory of equipment

Prescribe and administer medications and treatments

Perform specialized eye tests to measure and assess defective binocular vision or abnormal eye movement in patients

Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort

Obtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from a prescription prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist
