We are looking for an experienced and talented part-time Financial Controller to join our existing accounting team.
As Financial Controller you will report directly to our CEO and co-founder, and play an important role in guiding and overseeing the financial operations of the company.
You will work closely with our existing bookkeeper and provide additional support whilst our senior bookkeeper takes maternity leave. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing payroll and the billing of our customers, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, evaluating and reporting KPIs and Metrics, monitoring departmental budgets and targets, and supporting strategic decision making.
The ideal candidate will be a certified CPA with a background in establishing and maintaining high quality accounting and financial control procedures in growth stage companies.

We use proprietary software and a skilled team of claim experts to help eCommerce businesses recover 5-30% of their annual shipping expenses and up to 3% of their annual Amazon FBA revenue.
*Responsibilities*
* Oversee and coordinate the in-house bookkeeping and payroll processes, providing direct support and guidance when necessary
* Help define and monitor departmental budgets and targets
* Prepare and deliver KPIs, Metric and related management reports (regular budget variance, cash flow forecasting, P&L, balance sheet reports)
* Work closely with department managers and senior management team to help coordinate the operations of the company (weekly KPI reporting, quarterly OKRs, etc.)
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
*Requirements*
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related field
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
* 10+ years general accounting experience
* 3-5+ years developing accounting procedures for growth stage or start-up companies
* Solid previous bookkeeping experience (min 5 years)
* Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
* Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organisational skills
* Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office/Google Suite and Quickbooks Online
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Able to provide a criminal record check
*Nice To Have*
* An engaging personality and a good sense of humour
* Familiarity with the Stripe payments platform
* Experience billing customers in foreign currencies
* Experience dealing with customer related accounts/service issues

* Part-time, temporary position (flexible schedule, 10-20 hours per week) for 12 to 18 months
* $35 - 50 per hour (depending on experience)
