And we live it too.</span></p><strong>THE ROLE</strong><p><span>The Community Recreation Coordinator plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and facilities to our military members and their families.</span></p> <p><span>You will have a diverse portfolio, providing programs from preschoolers to adults and seniors. Each day will be different as you coordinate the details of community fitness, sports, day-camps, and civic events. You will have a chance to expand your skills and share your passions as you mentor junior staff and volunteers all with the goal of improving the quality of life for our military.</span></p> <p><span>We are looking for a dynamic, independent and motivated individual to join our team, helping us ensure recreation is all about fun!</span></p> <p><span>Responsibilities:</span></p> <p><span>Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the operations and delivery of Base/Wing/Unit (B/W/U) recreation programs, summer camps, and special events.</span></p> <p><span>Provide administrative services and support to the Recreation Assembly, recreation clubs, overseeing the preparation and submission of minutes for activity groups.</span></p> <p><span>Recruit, supervise, train, and manage a team of up to 30 employees, volunteer leaders and instructors.</span></p> <p><span>Communicate information among B/W/U administration, activity groups, clubs, B/W/U population, and individual participants.</span></p> <p><span>Liaise with Military Family Resource Centre personnel to coordinate recreation activities.</span></p> <p><span>Prepare an operating budget summary for B/W/U recreation programs and provide budgetary guidelines for activity leaders.</span></p> <p><span>Assist in soliciting for grants and sponsorship opportunities.</span></p> <p><span>Monitor, record, and document financial transactions/commitments.</span></p> <p><span>Recommend, implement, monitor, and advise on recreation policies and directives.</span></p> <p><span>Prepare NPF Capital Expenditure Plan submissions for recreational activities.</span></p> <p><span>Research external providers of similar recreation programs and services, including other B/W/Us, to develop new and effective practices.</span></p> <p><span>Inspect equipment and facilities for safety, and ensure corrective action is taken.</span></p> <p><span>Ensure safety and control procedures and regulations are being observed.</span></p> <p><span>Apply NPF policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation.</span></p> <p><span>Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Program and may act as a member of a local NPF Committee.</span></p> <p><span>Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.</span></p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED</strong><p><strong><span>Education, Certifications and Licenses</span></strong></p> <p><span>Bachelor?s degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies or Community Development, or a related field</span></p> <p><span>OR</span></p> <p><span>College diploma or certificate in Recreation Leisure Studies or Community Development or a related field, AND some years of experience in recreation administration, or a related field</span></p> <p><span>AND</span></p> <p><span> Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications </span></p> <p><span>HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation)</span></p> <p><span> HIGH FIVE QUEST 2 (successful completion by end of probation)</span></p> <p><span>HIG
