International & Indigenous Language <p>Instructor Elementary (IILE) <p>We are currently accepting applications for instructors who can speak, write and instruct in the Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese Language for our International and Indigenous Languages (non-credit) programs for student from grades JK to 8. This is a supply position to cover a leave immediately.<p> Location : In person learning, at Hess Street Elementary School, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.<p> In person learning, at Tiffany Hills Elementary School, Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.Timing : September to June (School Year Program) weekly classes 5:30 pm 8:00 pm Rate of Pay : $23.75/hour, for non-Ontario Certified Teachers<p> $27.13/hour, for Ontario certified Teachers in good standing.Duties: Providing a safe, positive, inclusive and respectful learning environment for all students<p> Exhibit professional conduct in accordance with all HWDSB policies and procedures (e.g. Safe Schools, Health and Safety, Respectful Workplace, etc.)<p> Develop, prepare and deliver goal-based short and long-term plans for language lessons for in-class or online as needed<p> Develop students knowledge and skills in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing in the target language, inclusive of cultural component<p> Conduct regular student assessments and evaluations in order to determine student progress, report as required<p> Record and maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance registers, and report on attendance as required<p> Collaborate with administration, and school community in the best interest of student success and well-beingQualifications/Experience: High School Diploma required<p> University Degree preferred<p> Teacher training/training in language teaching methodologies an asset<p> Teaching Degree/experience from other countries an asset<p> Language teaching experience in the Canadian classroom an asset<p> Must exhibit competency in the International Language of instruction and have a good working knowledge of English (at least CLB5+ level in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening or equivalent English Language fluency) <p> Ability to develop daily lesson plan and execute lessons for students with varying abilities and language skills<p> Supervision of students during the 2.5 hrs in a classroom.<p> Ability to work collaboratively with others<p> Demonstrated successful classroom teaching experience, preferably with elementary students<p> Strong interpersonal skills when dealing with a variety of learners<p> High energy an excitement for teaching<p> Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skillsInterested applicants are asked to submit a completed rsum, cover letter, and any related educational documents.<p>We thank all applicants, however, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
