Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. At heights. Work setting: Installation. Shop fabrication. Various locations. Repair. On-site fabrication. Retrofit. Tasks: Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Apprenticeship training: Level one apprenticeship training. Level two apprenticeship training. Level three apprenticeship training. Level four apprenticeship training. Level five apprenticeship training. Specialization or experience: Custom sheet metal items. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Tools. Personal suitability: Dependability. Organized. Team player.
