Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Machinery installation. Maintenance. Repair. Machine set-up. Tasks: Assemble mechanical equipment. Assemble stationary industrial machinery. Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Repair or replace defective machinery parts. Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up. Estimate costs and materials. Perform routine maintenance work on machinery. Operate machining tools to fabricate parts. Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Installing machinery and equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Automated and robotic system. Electrical and electronic controls. High speed packaging equipment. Industrial and stationary engine. Power tools. Area of specialization: Start-up and testing. Shutdown operations. Troubleshooting. Bearing, seals and packing. Programmable logic controller (PLC). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail.
