Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Dusty. Noisy. Outdoors. Tasks: Assemble wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders and barrels. Make minor adjustments and repairs to wood products. Record information on products inspected. Assemble door panels, trusses or modular components to make prefabricated housing. Read blueprints, written specifications and production drawings. Pack items for shipping and distribution. Reinforce assembled products with dowelling or other supports. Install hardware such as knobs and hinges. Inspect wood products for conformance to quality standards. Mark defective parts or products for repair. Trim, smooth, and shape surfaces. Area of work experience: Building and repairing skis. Framing and shingling. Truss manufacturing and building. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Overtime required. Physically demanding.
