We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who is also able to travel to Villa d'la Baie in Meteghan.As part of the multidisciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist provides assessment, care planning, consultation, intervention, and follow-up. They also function as a team member to improve, restore, and/or maintain resident's functional abilities as well as achieving the strategic directions of Tideview Terrace.QUALIFICATIONS:Master's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in Occupational Therapy from a recognized School of Occupational therapyMember in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova ScotiaDemonstrated clinical experience providing OT assessments and interventions with seniorsMaintain current certifications in CPRKnowledge and experience in a LTC environment preferredPrior training as a Certified Eden Associate, Vivage Neighborhood Guide, Person Centered Leadership Model, Art of Hosting, LEAN in LTC, PATH, and InterRAI considered an asset.Solid communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with othersService orientated with ability to build relationships and create win/win situationsExcellent listening, negotiation, team building and problem solving skillsAbility to negotiate sensitive conflict resolution situationsA "big picture" thinker and change agent with a propensity for continuous learningProven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlinesProven ability to make timely, effective decisions in a fast paced, changing environmentSolid computer literacy skills including proficiency in MS Suite of applications such as Word, Outlook and Excel, InterRAI, and scheduling software.Successful applicants will be required to submit the below documents and assume associated costs as a condition of employment:Criminal Record CheckProof of education & Training certificationsProof of any additional required qualificationValid registration with the relevant licensing bodySubmission of immunization record along with health assessment documentationProof of SIN numberHours of Work:Permanent Part-time (40%) position; 16 hours per weekCreating Homes Where Life is Worth Living http://www.edenalt.org/The Eden Alternative shows how companionship, the opportunity to give meaningful care to other living things, and the variety and spontaneity that mark an enlivened environment, can succeed where pills and therapies often fail.
