Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Cold/refrigerated. Dangerous. Dusty. Hot. Wet/damp. Work setting: Construction. Installation. Maintenance. Repair. Service. Testing. Troubleshooting. Troubleshooting/diagnostic. Tasks: Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Read blueprints and electrical schematics. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems. Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems failures. Splice, join and connect wires. Read blueprint, schemas and drawings. Install, test and adjust safety control devices. Install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems. Install underground wiring and cables. Design and construct low voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase service for single or multimeter installations. Connect cables, tubes and wires to complete assemblies and installations. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools. Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices. Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Construction Electrician Trade Certification. Inspection or testing specialization: Electrical assemblies, equipment and wiring. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Responsibilities
Tasks
