Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Installation. Shop fabrication. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Utilize computerized quantity take-off. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Tight deadlines. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Team player.
