High Prairie School Division <p>is inviting applications for: <p>Director of Mental Health Services <p>Job Purpose <p>The Director of Mental Health Services will lead and oversee mental health programs and initiatives for the school division, ensuring the mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students and staff. The role involves collaboration with schools, families, and community partners to create a supportive and inclusive environment. This position will develop and implement strategic plans, manage mental health services delivery, and provide guidance on crisis interventions, counseling, and prevention programs.<p>1. Role Expectation: Mental Health Program Development & Implementation <p>1.1 Lead the design, development, and execution of mental health programs across the division.<p>1.2 Collaborate with school administrators and staff to create mental health awareness and training programs.<p>1.3 Implement mental health policies, ensuring alignment with provincial and federal regulations.<p>1.4 Provide leadership and oversight on the use of mental health screening tools and assessments.<p>1.5 Develop strategies to address the mental health needs of diverse student populations, with a focus on early intervention and support.<p>2. Role Expectation: Crisis Management & Counseling Support <p>2.1 Supervise and provide guidance on crisis intervention strategies for students and staff.<p>2.2 Coordinate with external mental health professionals for complex cases and referrals.<p>2.3 Offer expertise and resources during critical incidents, working with school teams to provide immediate and ongoing support.<p>2.4 Maintain records of interventions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards.<p>3. Role Expectation: Collaboration & Community Partnerships <p>3.1 Build and maintain relationships with community mental health providers, agencies, and organizations.<p>3.2 Collaborate with local health services to improve mental health resource accessibility for students and families.<p>3.3 Foster partnerships with parents and guardians, providing information, resources, and referrals to support student well-being.<p>3.4 Work with educational leaders and wellness coaches to integrate mental health services into academic and extracurricular activities.<p>4. Role Expectation: Staff Training & Professional Development <p>4.1 Develop training programs for school staff on recognizing and responding to mental health issues in students.<p>4.2 Provide professional development opportunities focused on mental health literacy, trauma-informed practices, and resilience building.<p>4.3 Supervise and mentor wellness coaches<p>4.4 Ensure ongoing education for all staff on up-to-date mental health practices and legislation.<p>5. Role Expectation: Data Collection & Reporting <p>5.1 Collect, analyze, and report data on the effectiveness of mental health programs and services.<p>5.2 Track mental health trends across the division and use data to inform decision-making.<p>5.3 Provide regular reports to the Superintendent and School Board on program outcomes, areas of need, and recommendations for improvement.<p>6. Role Expectation: Advocacy & Leadership <p>6.1 Serve as an advocate for mental health awareness within the school division and the broader community.<p>6.2 Participate in local, provincial, and national forums on mental health in education.<p>6.3 Lead the school division in adopting inclusive practices that promote the emotional and psychological well-being of students and staff.<p>6.4 Develop and present mental health policies and guidelines to the board for approval.<p>Qualifications Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.<p> Minimum 5 years of experience in
