We are seeking an Internal Investigator to work in our Saint John, NB office. This position plays a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity and reputation of the organization by conducting fair and thorough investigations into potential misconduct, compliance violations, and other ethical concerns. Responsibilities: Lead and conduct investigations to determine misconduct, fraud, conflicts of interest and other violations of company policies or laws.Collect and analyze evidence, financial records, documents, emails and other relevant information to support investigations.Ensure the integrity of investigations by handling sensitive information and maintaining strict confidentiality throughout the process.Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations for necessary actions. Develop, review and support policy and procedure updates as they relate to investigations, current laws and internal discipline procedures.Building, developing and maintaining strong relationships within the Company to encourage open dialogue and collaborative commitment to problem solving, continuous improvement, and corporate risk mitigation.Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to corporate investigations and compliance.Provide direct investigative assistance to all Cooke and affiliate businesses, with the intent of reducing losses and successfully defending legal actions regarding the investigation and disciplinary action of employees.Build effective communication networks with local law enforcement agencies as well as federal agencies that manage financial and economic crime.Testify at hearings, as required. Qualifications: Knowledge of audit principles, practices and methodologies acquired through 5-10+ years of experience in auditing and investigative practices.Demonstrated investigative development skills, extensive experience in leading complex and sensitive investigations.Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and evaluate information.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interview witnesses, write clear and concise reports, and present findings to management.Strong technical and computer skills.Knowledge of provincial and federal law, knowledge of standard law enforcement agency practices.Ability to maintain objectivity, integrity, and confidentiality throughout the investigative process.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Innovative thinker.Willingness to travel as needed and on short notice.Personal integrity and professional demeanor.Join our team and enjoy the benefits of full-time year-round employment with competitive rates and a comprehensive benefits package tailored to support your well-being and career growth.
