<p>Job Summary :<p>Notre Dame is seeking a reliable and motivated Mechanic Assistant to support our Mechanic Teacher in maintaining a safe, productive, and educational shop environment. This position involves assisting with supervision of students, performing data entry, and offering hands-on support in a mechanical shop setting.<p>Key Responsibilities : Assist the mechanic teacher in supervising students during hands-on activities.<p> Help maintain tools, equipment, and the overall cleanliness of the shop.<p> Perform basic data entry for shop projects, inventory management, and student progress reports.<p> Demonstrate and guide students in the proper use of tools and machinery.<p> Support in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems as needed.<p> Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times in the shop.<p> Help with setup and teardown of classroom/shop projects. <p>Qualifications : Familiarity with basic mechanical concepts and systems. Familiarity with basic automotive maintenance procedure <p> Familiarity with automotive service equipment (tire mounting and balancing equipment, hoists, service tools) Good with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.<p> Ability to work well in a team and interact positively with high school students.<p> Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.<p> Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.<p> Previous experience in a mechanical or shop setting is a plus. <p>Preferred Skills : Familiarity with industry safety standards (OH&S)<p> Knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, or related trades.<p> Experience in a school or educational setting is desirable but not required.- LocationRed Deer, AB
