New Westminster Schools Career Opportunity<p>CASUAL CHEF ASSISTANT <p>Job Function: Reports to the Teaching Chef under the direction of the Principal<p> Assists the Teaching Chef in the training kitchen/cafeteria with the production and services of daily meals<p> Assists the students to learn proper processing methods and evaluating the products<p> Assists with the control of foods in progress and a continuous food supply during the lunch periods<p> Works with students in training, giving guidance both in food production and cleanup<p> Other related duties as required Qualifications: Grade 12 graduation<p> Two (2) year diploma/certificate in technical school training in Culinary Arts<p> Vocational level certificate in Baking<p> Food Safe Certification<p> Two (2) years of industry experience, preferably in a school setting working with teens<p> Good organizational skills<p> Recognized ability to work in a team environment<p> Ability to communicate effectively with adults and students<p> Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions<p> Knowledge of basic accounting procedures, spreadsheet and database creation and modificationHours of Work & Salary: Casual shifts range from 4 to 7.5 hours per day, Monday - Friday, while schools are in session<p> Short-term assignments may also be available <p> Casual employment may lead to a regular position in the district<p> Chef Assistant pay is $34.84 per hourApplication process <p>To apply for this position, click on the APPLY ONLINE button on this page.
